Lovely, Clean, good location, friendly
Very near San Marco and the San Marco vaporetto (the Giglio one is under repair). Chic neighborhood. Probably not where the locals hang out. We took a good tour to find that place :). But was short, beautiful walk to fabulous San Marco square which is a must. And we watched the New Years fireworks from the gondola station right 100 ft from hotel door.

By water. From the wharf of the airport you can take the Alilaguna Orange line motorboat to Venice and alight at “Santa Maria del Giglio” stop. Continue for approximately 50 meters and you will reach Piazza Santa Maria del Giglio where you will find Hotel Palazzo del Giglio. The trip takes approximately 80 minutes.
Or you can very conveniently take a water taxi, which can be booked directly at the airport and the trip will only take approximately 25 minutes.
By land (app. 1h trip). Bus + vaporetto. Take the shuttle to Venezia – Piazzale Roma. From here continue with vaporetto line 1 to San Marco / Lido and alight after approximately 25 minutes at the “Santa Maria del Giglio” stop. Continue as above.
By plane - Treviso Airport
From Treviso Airport Canova (30 km)
Trip takes app. 90 minutes. Take shuttle to Venezia – Piazzale Roma, from here continue with vaporetto line 1 to San Marco / Lido and alight after approximately 25 minutes at the “Santa Maria del Giglio” stop. Continue 50 meters and you will reach Piazza Santa Maria del Giglio where you will find Hotel Palazzo del Giglio.
By train - Santa Lucia Station
From the Venice train station you can take vaporetto line 1 to San Marco / Lido and alight after about 25 minutes at the “Santa Maria del Giglio” stop. Continue 50 meters and you will reach Piazza Santa Maria del Giglio where you will find Hotel Palazzo del Giglio.
Or you can very conveniently take a water taxi from the train station, which can be booked directly at the station and the trip will only take approximately 15 minutes.
By car - Piazzale Roma
From the motorway follow directions to Venice. When you reach Piazzale Roma, leave your car at the terminal (after the long bridge that connects Venice to the mainland) leave your car in one of the parking lots that have special agreements with Hotel Palazzo del Giglio. From here continue with vaporetto line 1 to San Marco / Lido and alight after about 25 minutes at the “Santa Maria del Giglio” stop. Santa Maria Del Giglio
The hotel overlooks a square where you will find one of the most beautiful Baroque churches of Venice, Santa Maria del Giglio. The Church is an ancient construction, with the present building dating back to the mid 17th century that celebrates the glory of Captain Antonio Barbaro of the Serene Republic whose effigy is carved on the facade. Inside, among extraordinary paintings by Venetian painters and quite unique to Venice the beautiful Madonna with Child by the Flemish painter Peter Paul Rubens, can also be seen.
Santa Maria Della Salute
A single stop of the vaporetto will take you to another wonderful Baroque church: Santa Maria della Salute which overlooks the Grand Canal and is the masterpiece by Longhena. It celebrates the devotion of Venice at the end of the plague that had swept over the city in 1630. Decorated with beautiful statues on the outside, the church has an original octagonal plan and houses important paintings such as beautiful works of art by Titian. Each year, on November 21, the church beckons thousands of faithful in a procession of prayer for the vow of health to the Virgin, in a profoundly religious and suggestive atmosphere.
Theatres
In the evenings, the plays at Goldoni Theatre cannot be missed which are a 5-minute walk from the hotel, or the operas and classical music at La Fenice Opera House.
